Is this a metaphor about Canadians? Am I saying, "HEY CANADIANS, GET OFF MY LAWN"? No, not really. My gutters are just way clogged. Also, an alternate title: For Gutter or For Worse

It’d been a while since I’d last been on a roof. I ended up spending a lot of time out there, looking at the neighborhood. I love when chores accidentally end up being really fun.

That’s it for today! It’s nice out!

(Oh also: exciting news from the Goog. Check out the comic! It’s…surprisingly technical!)

(And as long as I’m writing about Google, take a look at a new (unofficial) way to use it (for nerds)! What!)

Edit: As usual, N8 got to the Google Browser news first, and with better coverage. I like how Google is treating the browser as a kind of higher-level OS (see the comic regarding process management), thereby doing the Google Sidestep, wherein they kinda-sorta fulfill expectations to create a Google OS (again), only in a way nobody expected, because the Google guys are unprecedentedly clever bastards. Their method seems to be a more benign version of what Microsoft did with DOS and Windows: taking something someone else (in this case, Mozilla) already does well and doing it better (in this case, as before, by having weapons-grade concentrations of clever). One point that I especially liked about the comic is that they point out that Chrome is open source, so it’s not like Firefox/Iceweasel/etc. are going to get gutted by it in the long run. In fact, Firefox & co. will probably be sporting a lot of similar features once Chrome’s done the rounds.

(Also, here’s a version of the comic that doesn’t look horrible.)
