The “Romantic” I am apologizing to in the fine print is AKA’d¹ Jordan Piantedosi, the artist behind one of my favorite ever webcomics, Perfect Stars. I’m apologizing partly because I’m aping her a little bit, especially in that last part, but mostly because I didn’t even do a very good job of it. And I’m not trying to say “I’m not good enough!”, it’s just that I just don’t know how she draws like that; it is by and large beyond me. I definitely draw on some of her techniques in my comics though, which I think will become more apparent as time goes on.

And if you’re liking Perfect Stars, may I also recommend the (sadly, hiatus’d) A Lesson Is Learned, But The Damage Is Irreversible. There’s only 41 comics, but they’re all gold, also featuring virtuosic art and writing by David Hellman and Dale Beran, respectively. I go through the full ALIL archive every now and again to remind myself why I’m into this whole “comics” thing.
