How do you respond to that? Do you just not say anything?
#37: At The Mercury Dime
Monday, 6 October 2008

The style here’s a bit different from the usual, and so we’ve swung into rough drawings and arbitrary colors, okay. This week’ll be a bit all over the place, style-wise.

Anyway, this was at The Mercury Dime, a nice little coffee shop on 5th and 2nd in Manhattan. The Dime has a cute, cozy space, the staff is really friendly (and chatty), and the owner TJ is a solid dude, efficient and dedicated to brewing only pure, high-quality coffee drinks: no syrups here. (It’s also the only American coffee shop I know that gives you a cookie with your drink, like the Germans!) It’s a bit pricey, but worth it if you want a nice comfortable space and if you’re particular about your coffee. I recommend the French press.

Have a good Monday!

Yoo, I’m all about French Press. Also, at the supermarket near me, I found a big bag of Cinnamon sticks for cheap, so now I stir them in my coffee. Fucking delishias. Think I’ll go have some right now. Also, who’re you drinking coffee with in this?

That cinnamon stick idea sounds real nice, but I don’t know where to get them for cheap around here. That said, I really nurse my coffees, so it might still be worth it.

The kids are: Rudy (to my right) and bunch of kids you’ve never met. Nick (I think), the guy talking about Persian rugs, and Aaron (the tall guy with enormous hair) are friends of Rudy’s, and the girl who I’m kind-of talking to is friends with Aaron, but I forgot her name. Oops!

I’m looking forward to seeing the different styles.  :)
