Not much to report, except that this comic is way out of date and my inner thigh is now okay, and a lot less itchy! Scratching is still nice, though.
One problem with these quasi-journal comics is that they’re never actually that relevant to what’s going on when I post them because I draw them about two weeks beforehand (”the buffer”, as Jeph calls it). So I lose the essential “timeliness” feature that blogs generally have, and so the comic about Iceland’s insolvency (not to mention holidays) are going to show up way after anyone cares. But it means I’m not rushed to complete today’s comic by midnight every day, and I can ink and color and scan in batches instead of having to go through the whole rigmarole daily. This, I think, is worth it.
FC! is like a series of not-quite-in-order index-card time capsules from the very recent past. But going through the archives, it doesn’t matter much, and a lot of the comics (like today’s) are nonspecific enough that I’m the only person that gets any real temporal dissonance from it.

Haha, yeah that wouldn’t look too good.
Being two weeks ahead is a very good idea. I think I could do it if I didn’t have such a strong impulse to post something and show it off if I think it’s any good. Because my patience is lacking sometimes…
But I should have figured it was something like that. (Maybe someday I’ll gain the patience and so on to do something like this.)

You should! It can be kinda stressful, but it’s pretty fun! I’m finding that if I want to produce stuff, it really helps to have a schedule, and people who’ll prod and complain if you don’t keep it. Plus I don’t put all the comics I make up here, so the 2 weeks gives me a nice time to choose what goes up and ask people if it’s okay for me to put a comic about them on the wubs.

“and people who’ll prod and complain if you don’t keep it.” Haha - yeah.
It’s very tempting, but right now I need to focus on taking care of myself (and finishing all my various projects - I might even get to that song-comic eventually).

If you want, you could balance it out by posting some comics for things that will happen in two weeks.
Time travel has become quite in vogue recently—especially in politics—with Paulson blaming the the economic crisis partly on future administrations and McCain releasing an ad that he won the first debate before the first debate. Colbert talked about this in his wørd a couple weeks ago.

So I did a hasty scan of the “piercing” photo and put it up on my flickr. There’s all sorts of dust from the stupid NYU scanner on it, but you’ll get the idea. I’ll try to get a better one up soon.

Renee: as usual, my response is DOO IIIT
N8: I think I’ll just start making stuff up, which has been in vogue for quite a while in politics.
Lyndsey: Haha, I don’t look piercing, I look goofy! I always look goofy! It looks a bit like a back-of-the-dust-cover-author-bio shot though…
