#47: What Have I Learned From Making Journal Comix
Monday, 20 October 2008

Hey! Monday! You may have noticed that today’s comic is kinda…short. That’s because I got kinda lazy a little while ago and instead of making full-sized comics, I made a bunch of two-panelers. Six, actually. So from now through Saturday, I’ll be posting all of them. They’re quickies, but hey, a bonus Saturday comic! Also I learned a bit about basic watercolor technique while doing these!

I’m sure most of you have seen Colin Powell’s endorsement, but for those of you who haven’t, take a look at the video. Some people don’t much like Gen. Powell for his complicity in presenting the clearly unfounded rationale for the war in Iraq, but his statements today are nonetheless among the most well-spoken and reasonable commentary this election has seen from either side (of course, that’s not really saying much). See also: Nate Silver’s brief take on why the endorsement may or may not be important.

(Also, this is the image and article Powell was referring to.)

Have you been following polls like a rabid sportsracerfan? What sites do you watch? I’ve been eating up FiveThirtyEight and Pollster.

I look like George Clooney now. Montreal air does wonders for the skin.

    Nooooooooo

Montreal air turns you into George Clooney? Imagine a city of George Clooneys.

Alternately: what if your dollar coins became cloonies?

I watch ‘Campaign Update’ on current.com. Which, if you haven’t watched it, is a moderately vexing, yet strangely accurate and compelling two-and-half minute weekday briefing.

But mostly I just wanted to thank you for suddenly reminding me how excited I was to get a ‘twoonie’ when they were first introduced while I was living in Canada in ‘96.

Cool, I’ll be sure to check it out for the remaining weeks!
