#81: Sangaku

The puzzle is paraphrased from an old sangaku via a book of puzzles called 1000 Play Thinks, by Ivan Moscovich. After quite a bit of puzzling, N8 and I found out that it’s the only puzzle in the book without an answer in the back! Boy were we pissed. I did find some solutions I totally didn’t understand on the ‘wubs though. The only thing we managed to prove with what we could remember of high school geometry was that two certain line segments must be equal…so! Give it a shot!
